Decluttering.....or dejunking....

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Dejunking cause we are only dealing with the big pieces. I am just watching DH steer his '89 handicap van onto a carrier to get rid of. (He bought it to take others to meetings etc., on a volunteer basis.) emoticon He's removing one wheel for a friend to keep and use. I ran out screaming, do you want me to call the heart Dr? DH said "I don't think he can do this any better than I can."

We got a few dollars taking scrap metal to the junk yard and can use for gas. I mean big items no one knows what they are; they are so outdated. Taking van fulls to DS for a rummage sale. Baby seats...out; old age walkers in.... emoticon emoticon

We now have a narrow path through the basement. And only 2 vans in the drive. I always thought our marraige was safe, as he didn't get rid of anything...shall I get scared? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Maybe I should give DW the idea about getting rid of "valuables" might include her when she pushes too hard on "cleaning"?

This blog is so true and so funny! It sounds just like the life that I live. Thank you Ellen for putting humor in what is a sad situation at our house. emoticon

I cannot wait to retire so I'll have the time to de-clutter our basement. We really need to get rid of those 18 yr-old boogie boards, 30 yr old ski equipment, as well as 20 to 30 yr old hockey equipment. Although my husband has been retired for a year, de-cluttering is not one of his priorities.
