Weight loss can be a bizarre experience sometimes. What's the craziest excuse you've made for getting "off the wagon"? What's the most outrageous comment you've received about your weight loss? What's the goofiest diet tip you've received? What's the weirdest weigh-in ritual you've heard about or done?

What's the craziest excuse you've made for getting "off the wagon"?
Well I got off the wagon on vacation. I used the “junk food is cheaper” excuse. I know healthy food is not always more expensive. I was being lazy and won’t do that again!!

What's the most outrageous comment you've received about your weight loss?
Well I have not gotten many outrageous comments. I did get some negative ones. I was speaking with someone about how I do it. Next to me I heard someone under their breath say “ I don’t know how they do it I am too busy”. It kind of made me mad because being busy is not an excuse to be unhealthy!!

What's the goofiest diet tip you've received?
Well this one happened recently. I have lost 110 pounds and my SIL told me about a diet my MIL is on. They get injections and eat an incredibly low amount of calories. (a dangerously low amount) It also costs $150 a WEEK!! I told her I would not try it because once you stop the DIET you will gain the weight back. I also told her with my exercise I get to eat over twice the amount of calories than that starvation diet so I prefer my method. I am going for a permanent change not the “DIET” method where you do it for a while then change back to your old habits.

What's the weirdest weigh-in ritual you've heard about or done?
Well I weigh in weird every day. I weigh in naked after using the bathroom in the morning. I want my body to be empty as possible. I think I am different for weighing in everyday but I do well keeping track this way. If I skip the scale for a while, I tend to make worse choices. Weighing everyday is not for everyone though.

I'm a daily weigher too. I do it first thing, nearly naked. I think it's important to keep myself in check.

I think my attempt at a Vegan diet was the most radical. As much as I love veggies, I love milk, chicken and cheese too. I knew when I started it that I would struggle. Yet I did it anyway. DUH!!

Funny the things we do for weight loss. It's like we forget about the "health" part of it. LOL!

PS - Love the new blog topics!

I weigh in on Fridays in a bathroom at work. Today I was wearing jeans so of course I had to take them off! Good thing the door locks!

I weigh myself every morning after using the toilet, too, in just my nightie cos that's my ritual. My excuse du jour (make that du "month") is being constantly infected and on antibiotics, and having zero energy from being sick. It's a valid excuse but I'm sick of saying it already LOL! After a liquid diet and getting down to 140 (I'm 5'8" and looked downright skinny :D), my best friend, who was DYING of jealousy, remarked I looked anorexic. I didn't, at all, just slim and seriously fit from 9 months of gym work 5 days a week.

What's the most outrageous comment I've received about my weight loss? a lifetime ago I worked for a Major Retail Corporation in NYC.... being young and energetic, I worked my butt off walking before work, during lunch, dieting like crazy, and going to the gymn after work. 50 POUNDS came off FAST. At 5'11" I was wearing missy size 14 pants... I looked and felt GREAT.
My co-worker (an older guy) passed me in the cafeteria and took a double take...
then he asked me if I had CANCER? emoticon

Karendee I have missed you so much this summer. I missed the whole summer with the kids out of school and me having gall bladder surgery. I was weighing in everyday trying to keep a handle on things because I am terrified of gaining it all back. I noticed at the beginning of summer my daughter starting to make weird dietary demands and weighing in alot and had to throw the scales away. I tried to tell her she is not heavy and does not need to worry about that just making better choices on diet and exercise to ensure future health. A typical evening for her is pizza, cell phone and the remote control. I get alot of negative remarks from family they tell me I am skin and bones and i look so much older. Focus on making you hapy and healthy. You are a winner in my book.

the lies we tell yourself . we could write a book . the thing is we believe them . How can we decided fairy tales are better then truth . the idea that we can lose 20 pounds in less then two weeks seem to appeal to all .lies are not truths . but they cast a dream like to all the hard work and that for the small cost of 29.99 we can be thin as a wall . bought this line so many times..Sometimes it cost more sometimes less line forms on the right . sign up right now .. l emoticon

My daughter is doing the Paleo diet and thinks it can be sustained for life. But she is sneaking in foods that are definitely not Paleo....
