What is a Victorio Vegetable Strainer, You Ask ?

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Well here is a picture of the box of the one I just bought...

I use it to make Tomato Sauce.
It's function is to separate the skins and seeds from the juice and pulp of the tomatoes.
First you Boil your tomatoes til they are really soft.

Then fill thetop hopper with the boiled tomatoes, crank the handle...

The seeds and skins come out the side...

And the juice and pulp comes out the front...

And you get a wonderful pot of tomato juice ready to jar or cook down into sauce.

Here is a picture of the unit in action...

Well, there you have it !!!
The BEST way to get your tomatoes made into juice...No More Hand Pressing through a Sieve...

Just thought you'd like to see what a Victorio Strainer looks like and how it works...
Thank You for Looking and Happy Canning to All !!!!

Wish I had something like that back in the day when I canned a LOT of tomato sauce. (I spent days at the stove/sink blanching and peeling. Ug! )

Looks like this would make quick work of it all .

That looks really neat! I just bought a new stainless steel food mill though so I better use it. My husband would croak if I went out & bought something else now!

The skins and the seeds go in the trash. I tried composting. But all it did was feed the growing ground hog population... emoticon
