8/22/12 - Day in Review

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Today went good. Irritable but good. I heard back from my doctor and now he wants me to try Zoloft. I have been on that before and apparently didn't get the results they were looking for but willing to give it another try. I have been on so many I can't even remember them all. I was on DSHS medical for about 10 years so no doctor really wanted me (they don't get paid as much as they would like) and so I kept getting passed around and they would each try their own combination of everything. Fun times... Even ended up with hallucinations a couple times because of drug interactions because of overlapses.

Anyway, I trust the doctor I'm with, I just sometimes feel like we are going backwards with trying some of the same ones I was on before.

Ok, now on with other things.

I have been losing weight so that is good. I am looking forward to Sunday to seeing how my inches are doing. That is what I really care about!

Well, didn't get a chance to write in here before bed because of having the boys but I had to go potty so I wanted to write something before I forget to.

First grats on the weight loss! I'm sure you'll have great results with the inches.

As for the medications, remember you and your doctor (I'm glad you have one you trust) are a team, don't be afraid to ask questions, lots of questions and voice any concerns you have. Even now, if you think of something you wish you'd asked, write it down for the next visit. I hope it all gets resolved and working well for you soon though. Keep that beautiful smile going and all your hard work to a healthier you!

My son is on Zoloft, and others, right now. I know how hard it can be to find the right meds. And of course, when he has a growth spurt or hormonal changes, then we sometimes have to start all over again. But we're not giving up and I am proud of you for not giving up either! Congrats on the weight loss!

emoticon on the weight loss...hope the inches are coming off, too.

Sorry for the struggles of trying to find the right meds. I think sometimes, too, something works for a while and then your body gets used to it. That happened with my DH with his first few meds...at one point, he upped the dose to where he should have been in the hospital under supervision! It took a long while, but now he has found what works and seems to be stable on it. Same dosages for long time now. Bear in mind, too, that your stress levels can affect how your meds work for you. It might help to journal about your stressors to keep track of how they may be affecting your mood/health/wellbeing.

Glad to see you blogging here. Keep up the good work!

Hang in there and don't be afraid to share your concerns with the doctor regarding possibly going backwards. He maybe able to explain his game plan better if you ask.

Good luck and keep on pushing!
