Motivation

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

I admit I am still ignorant and don't know how to coordinate my body and the exercises, but I am learning. I am surrounded by a lot of positive people, I also am aware of their struggles to get where they are. There is where my motivation comes from, seeing others succeed. I feel very fortunate to have drawn those people into my life. I am fortunate to work with talented and to have been given the chance to be a part of them. Ask yourself, "What or who motivates me?" There are a lot of "ordinary" people around that you can admire. Maybe someone always has a smile on their face, has the drive to do something, or has that quiet sense of peace within them. Take the time to discover their secrets and define them for yourself. This can be the core of your motivation. I believe when you unlock these secrets and apply them to your own life, you cannot lose.

I was interested in reading your blog because the first line really caught my eye "I admit I am still ignorant and don't know how to coordinate my body and the exercises, but I am learning". I just started Zumba and that's exactly how I feel!! But what was really interesting is how you mention the people around you can motivate you and I couldn't agree more.

I found some powerful motivation by telling a woman at Zumba (who was really working it) how impressive it was to be able to follow her through the steps. She moves like I hope to be able to! I was shocked when she told me that she lost 130 lbs. Of course I had to ask her how did she do it and she said "it's simple, move more, eat better and eat less". She was my motivation for returning to SparkPeople and being more accountable to myself about doing everything you need to be successful.

You're so right, there are motivating people all around us!
