Try Something New!

Are you someone who sticks to the same routine or do you give new things a try enthusiastically?
Or are you like me, somewhere in the middle. I don't always jump into something new. Sometimes I need a little push. Sometimes I need a big push. Or sometimes I try something new out of necessity.
Earlier this week I had a bit of a dilemma. I wanted to go for a walk. It was raining. I did not want to go out in the rain. Usually not a problem for me, but for whatever reason, I wanted to walk on my treadmill instead.
Obstacle: Someone had thoughtlessly put something weighing about 45 pounds on my treadmill! That is THREE TIMES more than my lifting weight limit of 15 pounds (still doctor's orders).
Sputtering away, I look around and I spy THE STATIONARY BIKE. Nope, that was not for me. Nope. Not interested. Never liked it before, not wasting my time with it.
Limited options sure does narrow your choices!
On to the stationary bike I go. Just for 10 minutes. Then for 20 minutes. Then, hey, this is not so bad after all, for 30 minutes! I have used it every day since! I really like the thing.
I am so glad I found something different to add to my exercise repertoire.
And to think, I would have never discovered my new friend, the stationary bike, if I had been able to walk like I had planned. I sure am glad someone placed something heavy on my treadmill!
I hope you, my SparkFriends, are eager to try new things. You don't have to like them. Just try them. You might be surprised!
