Late to bed last night, late to sleep...I finally made myself go to bed about 10:30 last night. I laid down with The Spark and read for a while. I was still awake at 11:30. I knew I had to get up at 4 am to drive out of town and get my friend to the hospital by 6 am for her surgery. That didn't matter, it was insomnia. I think I was finally asleep a little after midnight.
The alarm went off at 4 am. I climbed out of bed to get around. I had already packed my breakfast, lunch and a snack to take with me (no excuses to fall off the nutrition train for me). I also took Powerade Zero and 3 bottles of water. I was going to have to settle for hospital coffee.
At that hospital, when you have someone in surgery, they give you a pager for when it is time to have the doctor consultation and then it goes off again when the patient is going to a regular room. Since I was not restricted to the hospital building, I decided to go for a walk while she was in surgery and then again while she was in recovery. Good thing I dressed appropriately for the unknown exercise. Altogether I walked 2.5 miles.
It finally caught up with me about 1:30. I cuddled up on the love seat in her room. Off to sleep I went, for about 1.5 hours. I needed it, my sciatic nerve was killing me. My toes were burning too.
I got home tonight at 7:30. I will be driving back to take her home tomorrow. I have eaten supper. I still need a few more calories before bed and I am no where near hungry. But I am happy that I am home now. Time to relax!
Have a great night Sparkers!!!
