Yesterday I traveled nearly an hour to take an exam, a preliminary to hopefully an interview for a position I applied for. That was the longest I drove alone since all my surgeries. Then today, I drove about the same distance to take a computer class for librarians. I also got stuck in construction traffic both ways today.
Yay, me! That was driving two days in a row, nearly an hour each way, and sitting in classroom/at a desk/computer situations. I am tired tonight.
Yesterday, I also went to the doctor to check about the numbness in my right hand that has been continuing. He verifies about the right hand cubital tunnel and pinched nerve in my elbow (ulnar neuritis) causing the problem. This has been ongoing since the fall on the ice of February 2009, but everything else was so pressing, that this just got put off. So, I go to occupational therapy next week and also will get a night splint for the elbow to see if it can be relieved without surgery. It bothers me to write, and to crochet. and sometimes to drive.
Other than that, all is pretty well.
I have been behaving with my eating, though I missed logging it yesterday, and am not sure if I will get that far today.
I am practicing my breathing, and tucking in my tummy. I have been walking, though I can't say how much. I also sat out in the sunshine at lunch, eating my greek yogurt with granola, and a banana, and my water. I only allowed myself half a cup of coffee today. Breakfast was oatmeal. Supper - shepherd's pie with mashed potatoes, corn, and ground turkey, and a nice salad with french dressing and a glass of milk. I will probably have a small dish of frozen yogurt later, and some melon. That is about what I had yesterday. With the addition of a bowl of cereal and milk for a snack.
Today I learned how to fine tune WordPress and connected with some Librarians I have not seen in a while, and some I never met before. The instructor, a long distance friend, gave me some basketry materials, so now my creative brain is really thinking about that.
I took a little walk out in my yard. The pumpkin and winter squash plants have taken over the patio, and nobody has cut the grass! Yikes. The pond is overrun with plants, and weeds too.
Now, I am going to put my feet up, and step away from the computer, because over 5 hours in a computer class was more than enough for me today.
The needle on the scale is dropping, since it went out of control (I did not log that - too embarrassed - but it was reaching 205!) back to 200 today. It HAS to go lower. Come on everyone, chant with me. How low can you go? How low can you go?
Tomorrow's plans - job applications. A bunch. Then hopefully some fun. I bought myself a bouquet of flowers I want to paint. Meanwhile, I have taken photographs of them. I also have two green garbage bags full of basketry supplies, cane and reed, some even in colors. Last night, I started another crocheted afghan - in boucle yarn of varying colors in granny square pattern. The textured yarn makes it different. That is probably what I will do while chilling out tonight.
G'night my friends.
