The title of this blog entry is a direct quote. It's what I said when I jumped out of a perfectly decent airplane at 13,000 ft, plummeting towards Earth at 120 miles an hour. I'd convert to metric, but I can't be bothered as this was in California.
Last year, my daughter said for her 18th birthday present she wanted to go sky diving. I said, we'd go together. When I went to arrange it, I found out that they have a weight limit of 230lbs. I was over it. This year, I'm not, and so we set the date and did it. That first step, as they say, is a doozy!
Here's a link to the site of the company we used. The upper left video shows the tandem dive. We did this. We jumped with instructors who knew what they were doing, thank goodness! I was happy to be mere luggage.
There's that off the bucket list sorted!
Other highlights from my summer hols:
Visiting my husband in Washington, DC
Visiting family in both northern and southern California.
Visiting a friend I hadn't seen in 21 years.
Going back to my tae kwan do school and impressing the teacher with how I've kept up my skills (at the expense of being VERY sore afterwards, see previous blog posts)
Riding with my son who is learning to drive. He did not pass his test, though he took it twice.
Going to see the Hollywood tourist sights (I don't care for them, but a cousin was visiting)
Going to see the new penguin exhibit at the Aquarium of the Pacific -- YAY!
Thinking I gained a couple of pounds, but not worrying about it because I did keep active and kept the damage to a minimum.
I've been doing well and logged my food today. I'm going to do my exercises tonight. I'm sparking and feeling great! I hope everyone has/had a great summer, too.
