Big changes

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

So I went to the beach and if you, like me, really need to be beat over the head with motivation, THAT is the place to go. I've never worn a bikini to the beach. I've never had guys check me out while I'm at the pool. Mostly I imagine people are begging me to put more on, though I dress quite conservatively (one piece and shorts).

Anyway, I was at the beach, down on myself, feeling like I was making all these promises and goals that I couldn't follow through on. So I started looking in my area for a personal trainer. I emailed him and started the day I got back from vacation. Today was my fourth visit and I can't wait to see what changes begin! I plan to stick with him at least through the winter. It's expensive and I don't know how long I'll be able to afford it.

But regardless, I'm so tired of promising MYSELF that I'll do something different. I'm only disappointing me in the end. I'm also looking at meeting with a nutritionist for a while, to give me some perspective on what I'm putting into my body. I try to eat healthy, but my carb count is always high and my protein count is always low. I want that to be opposite, but I don't know how to do it.

Question, though...I meet with my trainer for an hour 3 days a week. How do I record it in the fitness tracker? There is a circuit training one that seems like an excessive number of calories...750 something for the hour. It's possibly true, but I don't think so. Any other ideas for how to input it?

*Edit - okay, one area I haven't totally sucked at this summer is quitting cigarettes. Monday will be 2 months! And yeah, I'm looking for a little love, give it to me!!!!!!*

That is SUPER that you quit smoking!! I quit cold turkey a looonnggg time ago, and never looked back. You'll do the same thing! My brother quit, and he was B&M about how he was coughing, and felt crappy, etc. So I asked him, aren't you saving money??(and your health??) I told him to put the same amount of money he had been spending on cigs into a fund jar and see how much money he had at the end of a week; a month. He stopped complaining!
emoticon Now, you already have something new to spend that money on:
