The physical, while making the doctor smile, did reveal a puzzle to be worked out. My blood work came back with a *slight* aenemic reading. So, we're working on figuring out what's up with that. Dr. says Lance Armstrong had a reading of 18, which made him the athlete he is. Mine was 11.7, just a shade under the bottom of the OK range (12). Dr. suggested that if we get my iron counts up, I might just improve my performance (grin, dangling a carrot?)... but more importantly, we want to make sure it isn't a signal of something else that needs to be taken care of.
Funny... three years ago when I ended up with the parathyroid surgery... it started out with blood readings (high calcium). I had no real symptoms that *I* could observe, but then again, I'm not terribly observant of the kinds of symptoms that caused.
So... breathe, keep on keeping on... take a test here and there, and figure out the puzzle. I had successfully donated blood just three weeks back... and now, swimming at the back of my brain, I think she mentioned I just barely qualified on the iron counts.
