I have never been a walker by choice, but getting dogs in the last 2 years has turned me into one. Until I started my program my walks were pretty casual. Now I am being more aggressive in my walks. In order to track my walks I bought a belt clip pedometer. It works pretty well, but I was always forgetting it. I discovered that there are iPhone/iPod apps that act as sophisticated pedometers. I always carry my iPod to listen to my books so it was a natural for me. I installed Free Peometer. I used both the first time and they were pretty close. The application was easier to read to record. They want $2.99 to upgrade to eliminate adds and add some features. The biggest updgrade feature is GPS which my iPod cannot use. It does consume battery life.

Interesting. I've never had a pedometer. The old ones I saw years ago were worthless. Thanks for the info.

I hate pedometers and never thought that they would have an app on the Iphone for one - thanks for sharing, I am gonna look in to it!
