Last week started out rocky but in the end it went alright. I started out on the wrong foot, feeling over tired, highly stressed and basically my nutrition went to crap. By Wednesday though I had snapped out of it and managed to get back on track.
This week is the week of my second olympic triathlon of the season! I am excited and hoping to remain focused. Each day I am going to put aside a bit of time to practice my focus words and prepare for the event. I am not too sure about this course or the event itself but I will do my very best.
Also, last week I checked something off my August list, I did a 5K on Saturday with DS#1. It was a great race even though it was a bit yucky with rain. I did well though, 25:31 which is almost the same as my last 5K in June and much better than this time last year anyway. DS#1 was very pleased with his 27:32 finish especially since this course was hilly and he ran the whole way. I forgot how much I miss doing road races, even the small ones! It makes you feel great all day too!
Another thing off the list last week, I finished most of my school shopping for my boys. Only thing left are small supplies and socks and t-shirts. I spent a small fortune but I feel good that I actually got down to business here.
I did continue with my stroke lesson one time per week last week, still feel like I am making progress but it feels as though this may be the end of the line with my coach. Apparently he can only get me so far with technique and from here I will need to just practice faster intervals. I am planning on a lesson this Thursday and I will see from here.
Anyhow here are the stats...
Monday - 60 min bike, level 11 around the world, 20 min run, 7.2 mph
Tuesday - 7 mile run, 8.7 mins per mile
Wednesday - got rained out, took workout tot the gym, 60 min level 10 hill kajamjoo, 30 min level 5 random followed by 20 min run, 7.1 mph
Thursday - stroke lesson
Friday - 60 min swim, time trial, 37 mins, 1 mile, progress!
Saturday - 5K
Sunday - OFF
Well I will be checking in frequently in preparation for my race Saturday!
