Be Careful What You Wish For

Monday, August 20, 2012

We were coming home from camping yesterday and I had the NASCAR race on in the car. I was behind my husband who was towing the camper. Well, the announcers kept saying how Jimmy Johnson all but had the race won with only 5 laps to go and him being so far ahead of everyone. I yelled out loud "Oh why, doesn't he just blow up". Not one lap later that's exactly what he did, he blew his engine and just like that he was out of the race. Now I had said stuff like that before but nothing happened so it really took me by surprise when it actually did. My first thought was "OMG, is this really happening?" Then I started clapping my hands and hollering. (Sorry all you JJ fans out there). I know my DH heard me cause I could see him looking at me in the mirror wondering if something was wrong. Now I'm wondering if I did that loud enough would my kids come around to see me or could I win the lottery. LOL But with all seriousness, it really made me sit up and take notice that things can change just that fast and we shouldn't take a minute for granted.

Gives me something to think about!!

Hugs, Donna

I agree, that's usually when it happens, an a ha moment, after the fact. I've done that a few times and then wondered about it later..

Take care and have a great day!
