I had this thought the other day and it has been swirling around my head since then. I keep coming back to it and every time I do so, it sounds like a better and better idea. This might not turn into anything but at least for right now, I'm having fun using as a motivator to get my ass into the gym! :)
So, I don't know how many of you followed the Olympics. I definitely did and I'm super bummer that they are over. I always had them on while I was working out. Anyway, diving is always one of my favorites to watch. Specifically, mens diving. Don't judge me.
I live in Chicago and obviously I was over the moon when Indiana diver David Boudia won the gold for the USA. However, the whole time I was watching, I couldn't stop staring at Great Britain's Tom Daley (bronze medalist).
And, for obvious reasons I couldn't stop staring. And, while yes, he does have a pretty face, the girl inside me who wants to get healthy couldn't stop thinking about how much work and dedication it must have taken to get his body like that. I honestly couldn't tell you why none of the other athletes got got this reaction from me.
Anyway, the last few days, I've been so inspired and motivated when working out and I feel really healthy and really happy about my progress and where I'm going. It might sound silly, but I think I've found a really great motivator in Tom Daley.
Maybe when I reach my goal weight I'll take diving lessons or learn how to do flips off diving boards, who knows. I think it's important to have a goal to look forward to, especially when you have such a long way to go (100+ pounds to lose for me!). This is the first time in my life I've ever really admired an athlete for his/her dedication and hard work.
Hopefully, in a year or two I can post pictures of myself diving and doing flips off a diving board, like Tom Daley. :P
Here, have another picture of Tom because who doesn't want to look at that?
