Bad Food Day on Sunday

Monday, August 20, 2012

I had a very bad food day on Sunday. We were helping my brother move from one city to another in Tennessee, and my daughter wanted to go to McDonalds for breakfast. I had half a sausage biscuit there. (First one I've had since February.)

Then we had no choice but to eat out again for lunch and ended up at Hardees. I tried to make a good choice with a turkey burger, which tasted nasty! I ate some of my brother's fries and one of his chicken tenders too.

On our way home last night, we were all tired, so my daughter wanted to stop at Taco Bell. Now, I can't resist Taco Bell. I ended up having a crunchwrap supreme and a Dorito Loco taco.

Needless to say, I woke up this morning and had gained two pounds. Guess I need to hit the pool today and exercise it back off. But that put me back up to 200 and that is NOT acceptable!! (I was at 198!) That nasty fast food was so not worth it!!

I've actually ended up losing 5 lbs since that weekend. I'm at 195 now. I've been exercising every day, and I think that helps. My goal is to lose 50 lbs by my 50th birthday in November. I've only got 15 more to go! I know I can do it!

Thanks for the support, everyone. You're the best. :)

It's not unusual for us to vary up to 2 pounds a day, eSPEcially if the day before was a bad food day.

Just remember to do the math, though, if you're feeling discouraged. One pound = 3500 calories. And, you DIDN'T eat an extra 7000 calories yesterday. So, most of that weight will just fall back off if you follow up with some good food days. We just have to get back on the wagon, that's all. :-)

Thank everyone. I went out and exercised in my pool for about half an hour. When I came back in, I'd lost a pound. And I'm being very careful with what I eat today. So, no permanent harm done. I'll just have to make better choices next time. (I actually had some carrots and almonds with me, and I ate them too on top of everything else!)

When I am traveling I carry food in a portable plug in cooler - carrots, apples, water, homemade sandwiches, and cheese sticks.
Chalk it up to life and let it go... knowing that you can make better decisions today. It is hard to eat on the road. Jean

Bad food every now and then is not such a bad thing. I had bad food as well on Sunday. I want to L&L BBQ and had the combo BBQ plate which included Macaroni salad and white rice! ( usually try to eat brown rice and not so much meat, but was in one of those moods! Now time to get back on the plan. emoticon

We all have bad days and at least you know to get up and have a better day. That is great. Don't beat yourself up you didn't finish your breakfast or lunch so that I am guessing is more than you did before when you went to this fast food places. I have done that to gone and tried to be good and it ended bad but learn from it. But you learned about h.a.l.t. any of those things aren't good. Hungry, angry, tired or lonesome we tend to make poor choices when we become one of those things so I would carry good foods that don't spoil with me in the future and contiue with sparkpeople and good luck i bet your day is going better already! And you burnt calories helping your brother move so probably it was the sodium getting you yesterday! You are a loving sister and person to help your brother more good qualities you have emoticon
