~ Napoleon Bonaparte
I am pretty sure he was talking about war and not weight loss... but how those words sure do apply. And not just to weight loss, which is it's own kind of war, but also to many other areas of our lives.
Perserving. What a loaded word. What does it even mean? "To persist in or remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in the face of obstacles or discouragement."
Sometimes the difficult part of persevering is Just.Getting.Started.
I have been lax on my structured exercise, but decided it is time to focus on it again. And I wanted to start last night on my elliptical. Man how I dreaded it. But I kept seeing the words of a friend who had put these words on her status "very proud she made herself get off her lazy butt and ..." I kept seeing "get off your lazy butt"..... and so - I did.
And every time I wanted to quit before my buzzer went off, I kept seeing in my mind - "get off your lazy butt". And so I did! I kept going, I kept persevering! And I too, I was also very proud I got off my lazy butt and did my elliptical as I had planned/wanted.
Then this morning, after my weigh-in and the scale moved .4 downward, I found the words that I put into the title of my blog. "Victory belongs to the most persevering." I knew that was not a co-inky dink. And I knew it was not just for my weight loss journey. It was to be applied in all areas of my life. Those areas that I have lacked confidence, lacked enthusiasm, lacked motivation - I am finding renewed passion.
So remember - "Victory belongs to the most persevering" - Keep on keeping on - Keep on Sparking, my friends!
Have a fantabulous rest of the day!!!
