As any of you that have followed my blogs know I do these 12 week sessions of BIGGEST LOSER CHALLENGE here on SP. It's FREE! It WORKS! Better still - OPEN REGISTRATION begins today but spaces are limited.
Let me tell you how it works.
You peruse the list of 20 teams (each is slightly different in approach or style but all follow the same rules). You pick your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. About 5 days before the round begins (Sept. 12) you are invited into your new team area. There you will be with about 30 others for the entire 12 weeks. You will have a captain and some co-captains that will answer questions, give encouragement, etc . The best thing is how those 30 people will become your friends as you chat with them on your team threads.
There are challenges that vary but may include nutrition, strength training, cardio, education on health, etc. Past challenges have included such things as tracking sodium and trying to stay in range, eating a minimum of 5 fruits and vegetables a day, trying a new spark recipe, getting a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio, specific strength training (there are always modifications for those with special needs.) You may be asked to get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep. Challenges can be 1-4 days in length.
Every week your team stats as well as ALL BLC stats are tabulated and posted and you get to see how you stack up compared to your 30 team members as well as the 600 people in BLC. This is very motivating!
