New goals: The Happiest 5k & The Toughest Event

Ok so I've finally done it. Ive commited to my first 5k, and I think I picked a pretty good one. The Color Run. For those of you that don't know what the color run is, it's a 5k where you run through the streets of your city and people throw color at you. I.e. Color Run! I'm super excited. I wasn't too excited because I didn't have anyone to go with. It was just too expensive, $60! Mind you, you do get a t-shirt, head band, color packet, registration, and an automatic donation, but still. So last night I decided to pay for my friend to go with me since she really wanted to go. Her birthday is coming up so done did it. haha

In other news. I need to start training for the Tough Mudder, coming up June 2013. I have 10months to be in amazing shape, so I have a fighting chance. I think it's do-able. Just need to get my eating under control. I work out pretty well with kickboxing and martial arts, but my eating ruins all of that. When I went to the store yesterday I went back to my old self and got a bunch of diet foods.... My mom wasn't too pleased, and neither was I. I don't like diet foods..... They are so full of chemicals and processed stuff, but it worked when I was using them... But yeaaa let's see what else... well work haha gotta go, if I get a break I'll continue this thought. It feels good to blog again. Makes me think I have people on my side keeping me in check.

So yea our workout routine. We downloaded the tough mudder "maybe mudder" routine and tried it saturday. Emphasis on the tried haha. It looks like its going to be an amazing workout considering I was out of breath within the first 5 minutes, but unfortunatly a customer came in, so we had to stop and help her.... after about 20 minutes of chatting and a tour we finally got back to it. bout 5 minutes later, one of the training instructors walked in so we went ahead and called it quite so the next class could start. We didn't even finish one circuit hahaha. But we are very excited to try it out again.

Well something fun. Womens self-defense starts tonight! Yay! I'm not really sure how its gonna go since we didn't get as good of a sign up as we had hoped. But I think it might be better with a small class. More hands on personalized learning. I'm excited to learn some life saving skills.

Martial arts and kick boxing is going well, I just got my purple belt a couple weeks ago and I will probably try to test for my blue at the next testing. I really want to get out of the yellow suit haha. We call it the big bird suit :) Once I reach blue belt, then I will get the blue suit, which looks a lot better then yellow. The yellow is just sooooo loud. The other suit I won't mind wearing in public haha.

oh so skydiving... fail. The place I was supposed to go won't accept my expired groupon, so I had to go try to get into a suit to get my mula back. It was pretty expensive so I hope they will reimberse me. The I will save up money, loose at least 15 more pounds and go to a local sky diving place. Their max weight for women is 200 and since I'm about 215, I can't go. Here's the thing though. for men the max weight is 230. So how come they can take a 230 guy but not a 215 girl? weird.

annnnnywho, gotta get Mariah running with me. We have our 5k coming up! Gonna be fuuuun! wheew! After that I'm going to try to save up to run more 5ks. I think they are a good starting off point. I really like the non stressful charity runs. For one, your helping out a good cause and two it's an excuse to go running! well, have a great evening haha

    I just finished the Toronto Tough Mudder this past weekend - best time ever!

I think they do the electric shock last so that we forget it's the toughest event on the planet emoticon

I'm still pretty giddy about it all if you have any questions....

    I ran my first 5k last fall...then I got pregnant and had a baby. I want to start training too! You'll feel so great when it's all done. Good luck!
