so the bloggin thing is just not my speciality

Monday, August 20, 2012

Bloggin on a regular basis is just not my forte. In my defense, I do have 2 small children (one of which has been sick), it's been blazing hot (but i have not missed a workout), I work full time, and i am in charge of all household matters... like the endless mountains of laundry just waiting for their turn to be folded...

HOWEVER, even though my bloggin my have been set to the back burner, tracking my food and doing my workouts have not fallen behind!

I earned 24 stars on my Mommy Goal Chart of Brilliance last week. I also completely cleaned out my fridge and washed everything inside of it. And then I reorganized my pantry so I know what I have. Then I laid in bed Wednesday night and made a very long (and very healthy) grocery list. And then Thursday, to combat the heat (LB is VERY VERY VERY unhappy in the heat and gets heat rash very easily) we went to the air conditioned grocery store. And $220 later, I have everything that I need for at least 2 weeks worth of food. At least. I know I am going to have to go get more fruits and veggies soon, but I that's a small price to pay.

So my lunch for work lately has been turkey sandwhiches on an 8 grain bread, with mayo and spicy brown mustard, cheddar cheese, cucumber, red onion and spinach. It's been SOOOOO good. It makes me feel like I'm not sacrificing taste in order to be healthy.

I know you've been wondering about my class. Here's what it turned out to be. Trainer led strength workouts. weigh ins. and food and work out accountability. Really? that's exactly what I need. Jen the Trainer wants us to do our strength training 3 times per week, and she checks to make sure that we're actually coming in to do them. We can do cardio as well, but she's not focusing on that. My first weigh in came in at 240 lbs. My body fat percentage was 40.7% Last week, after the first full week of weigh ins, I was at 237 lbs and body fat was at 40.3%. I was really happy with myself. And then I started listening to the other people in the group and they were doing nothing but making excuses. I was able to do everything that Jen the Trainer wanted and I really didn't have too hard of a time not making the time to go. The one exception to that statement (kinda) was yesterday. I work 10-6 on Saturdays. The gym is open 7am-7pm. Last week I went before work, right at 7, then came home and had breakfast with my family. But Friday night, my daughter climbs in to bed with me after having a temperature all day and not acting herself and wakes is crying about her sore throat. So I take a look and what does it look like? Yup, strep throat. So I call the doctor, they say, bring her in at 9:30. So I send Papa Bear and Sissy off to the doctor (first time Sissy has been to the doctor with someone other than me), take LB over to the Grandparent's house and then off to work I go. Totally missed my oportunity to work out, BUT my kids come first. So I went after work and missed quite a bit of a family birthday party (one of Papa Bear's aunts). But it was worth it. My workout was TOTALLY worth it.

So wednesday is another weigh in. And I will for sure write something before than.

Tomorrow's Goals!
1. Fold some clothes
2. Pick up 10 things in each room of the house
3. Go to the gym
