104 Weekly Update

Sunday, August 19, 2012

THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME.

Our roommate ditched on us. Even after giving less than two weeks notice he still snuck out in the night... but that's ok, because the room is clean, the tension that I didn't even know there was has lifted, and things are looking up.

I don't have a lot to update this week... (I lost 3 poundsish from last week, when I was supposed to have not weighed in but did because I'm a cheatttterrrr and can't stay off of my scale) ...but I will have lots to talk about in the blog next week, seeing as it's the last week of this blc :(

I'm going to work my butt off this week to see if I can get out of these freaking 30's!! I'm also going to write a letter to someone about making a roof on poles to cover the free outdoor gym area from the elements. It's too hot, and I think a lot more use would be had from the machines if we weren't staring directly into the blaring sun, rain or snow. Keep the sides open though for safety, natural light and air, and to save costs. Costs that mayyybe someone should use on a cold water drinking fountain?? hint hint for them?? LOL

Anyways :) It's been a great week. I had a good vacation, and next year I'll be bottling fresh-water clams for all of August since I found a secret little place with, quite literally, tens of thousands of hot dog bun sized clams!! (Hot dog buns were the only thing that would describe the shape and hugeness of them properly)

Take care everyone, hope you have the best week ever emoticon

ps, I hate clams, and I can't believe I called them 'bottled'... that's been an argument for 5 years LOL!! With Mason being from Newfoundland, I've never heard some of the terms that he uses :)

Do you call glass jars of preserves, fish, veggies "bottled" or "canned" ??

We call it canned. My sister makes the best canned wild pacific sockeye salmon. I treasure it & hoard it like diamonds.

I'd call them jarred. Nice to see things are looking up for you in the roommate situation. Crazy that he left in the middle of the night. Hopefully he left the room clean rather than you cleaning it.

our place doesn't have windows, doors or walls. It's literally just 12 machines outside in a field. I'm not sure why they didn't originally put it under some sort of shelter. That would have been the logical thing to do wouldn't you think lol!!

Thanks for the comments guys. Mason's still set that it's bottling hahaha :)

Born in the midwest, raised in the Iowa area before moving south to Tx.. we call it canned/ canning :) I think it's probably a regional thing!

A loooong time ago, I used to go to a fitness center that had all the treadmills/ bikes/etc lined up against the windows facing the outdoor pool. They had TVs with CNN/etc up above the machines too. It was a nice view, but they had the same problem with glare from outside! Those guy had a cold drinking fountain, though :( Hopefully your place can at least try tinting the windows or installing some shades or something!

We always called them canned. LOL it had nothing to do with the container in was in, but the process of preserving the fruits and such.

The only way I like clams is fried ;) probably why I don't eat them as much as I used too! :D

hehe....we call them bottled...cause a glass jar/mason jar is a bottle...not a tin can....lol But really...the words are more geographical than anything else, and also depends on the process that you use...
