Letting Go of Worry

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Sunday, August 19, 2012

Too often we spend our energy worrying about things... be it how we'll get to our health goals, how we'll get that project done on time, will we be 'good enough' for whatever task is at hand, worrying 'when will I meet that someone special'... Worry zaps us of the enjoyment of the present. So I post these inspirational posters to remind you (and me too : )

This last one is so true ... and while there are times when we're faced with certain challenges we wonder where it will lead us, so long as we trust and have faith ... that everything DOES or DOESN'T happen for a reason.

Before my girls got home - I worried... if they were going to have a good visit; I was faced with the worry of my youngest not wanting to come home - and perhaps opting to live with her dad... so I let go (for sanity's sake) and all turned out well!! Both girls are home, safe and sound. They had a good visit with their father and step-mother - and visited with her parents. My youngest learned that she has options and could live where she wishes but also realized that perhaps the decision was too heavy for her at this stage in her life.

And so today begins ... my girls are in their beds, the sun is shining and I'm getting ready to head out for my walk by the river... So remember friends... Let go of worry...

Wishing you a SParked Sunday!!

Your blog reminded me about this versus in the bible:Matthew 6:25-27

But how quickly we can forget and start to worry about everything that can go wrong.

I loved the images you placed in your blog a great visual reminder.

This quote: Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.- Corrie Ten Boom sums it so perfectly.

Thanks for a great message.

The twists and turns of life are unavoidable. However, its up to me (or you) to choose to see each as a positive growing experience.

I so agree! I inherited being a worry-wart from my darling Mom, until a few years ago when I discovered there are certain things in life I can't control. Today...I'd rather be happy and not worry about what happened yesterday or what could happen in the future. I try to live each day as it comes. Great Blog!

I recall an old song that said something like DON'T WORRY be happy! It's not easy to do but once in a while we should all try it. Just be happy and don't worry.

Thank you for your post. I tend to worry a lot. Sometimes someone else telling you their worries, and how they cope really helps and strikes a cord.

Let go of worry...when you have no control over it especially. But it is hard. I think some of us - WOMEN - are just wired that way!

Glad you are in a sunny spot now!

Well said. Reminds me of the serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference

Worrying does not makes theissue dissappear. Rather we give our selves health issues(stress, ulcers, hypertention) in addition to the issue at hand. Lovely posters
