I have a wedding to attend in one week. And though it's a short-term, external motivator, I've decided I want to be at my goal weight by the wedding.
I thought long and hard about what little steps I need to take to get to that place. Since this journey is all about self correcting, redo's and fine tuning, this is the perfect week to really hone in on those skills.
1. I will go back to chewing each small bite slowly. I'm still on summer break and this is a great habit to reinforce before crazy work time begins again.
2. I will get in touch with my afternoon fruit and dinner veggie portions. Though fruits and veggies are healthy, it's still important to eat a reasonable portion and finish my snack/meal hari hachi bu (sated but not stuffed).
3. I will take advantage of being in a house with a treadmill and do PM walks to junky TV as a second workout. It's fun and I'm getting in extra steps!
4. I will be sure to get lots of sleep each night, again, while still on vacation.
I'm so excited to make these steps habits, because when the school year starts, these are the kinds of behaviors I used to let slide, but in fact, they are behaviors that can help to keep the stress of the year at bay.
