So, the bad: I've really been off on calories the last two days. A new Five Guys opened up in the town I work in and I haven't been to one since last April. So I splurged bigtime at lunch yesterday. Plus, the boyfriend's down for the weekend, and he took me out to a hibachi grill for lunch. So, yeah, not so great.
But no worries. Tomorrow it's back to normal. This time, it's going to be hard to stick to super healthy eating 7 days a week, so I'm prepared for the fact that this weight loss is going to go slower. I'm trying to make this routine and a part of my life, so off days are going to be a part of it. As long as an off day doesn't turn into a week, month, or year, then it will work out.
Now the good: Today I ended up hiking almost 4 miles in 2 hours. There's a local park we like to hike at, and we normally only do about 1.5 to 2 miles. Today, though, we took on the hardest part of the trail, which involved a huge amount of steps leading up a ridge. It was rough on both of us, but we did it. I'm pretty thrilled about that, and about the huge calorie burn we got as a result of the hike.
My hips didn't bother me at all, and they actually feel almost normal right now. So the cross training is helping. I think it's definitely inflammation, as Ibuprofen cuts the pain down by 60%. Tomorrow I'm doing Week 1: Day 3 of the 5K program, and this time I'll do it on a flat walking track.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
A pretty creek during the hike
The ducks did not approve of the Boyfriend quacking at them. We barely escaped alive.
