Back on track starting Monday! Take shape for life!

So I'm pretty excited to get going on this plan.. My mom has done amazing so far and I really just want to kick this weight to the curb and being MAINTAINING! Something I have never done on this yo-yo diet lifestyle of mine. It's frustrating I feel like I never get to my goal weight and I start gaining and not paying attention to the scale and over-indulging.. Not this time! I know how to maintain. I have done it when I get in plateaus. And when I get in plateaus it is usually because I stop eating good on the weekends. I eat good all week and then I get out of hand on the weekends, restarting on Monday. And so I know that at least I will be able to have my slight indulgences once in awhile, and stay at my maintained weight. PLUS they also have a transition/maintanence program to help you transition back to 'normal' foods. I am READY!

So Take Shape for Life is by Medifast, they provide the foods, you provide a "Lean and Green" and eat some protein and vegetables. Eating every 2-3 hours. This is great for me because THEY chose the food for me. I'm not great at making choices with my food on my own. I don't have time to cook dinner, that's up to my husband. So this plan will fit in perfectly with my work schedule and my life. I will eat dinner at the table with my family, but might not have the not-so-healthy and over processed food that they might be having due to my DH not really having the time or experience in the kitchen to make healthy meals. If I would be able to get home earlier than 630 pm it might be a little easier on us to eat healthy dinners..

SOOOO anyway other than that, things have moved forward a lot more with my leg! I now wear the metal bar leg out in public, and I got a sleeve cover for my leg instead of getting it painted. I found a website where I could get a custom cover made with the design of my choice.. My dad will be painting the metal bar a 'color shifting' color- it will change from purple to green to blue depending on the light. So I have come so far this summer.. From never wearing shorts, to wearing shorts but feeling like I should just go for it and wear a metal bar leg, to going BOLD with this cover and basically screaming 'LOOK AT ME!!!' Haha!

    sorry i am behind on my blogs.leg looks great very hippieish(i am a hippie at heart,lol)canīt wait to see what it is like when your dad has painted it.never heard of a colour changing paint but the colours will go great with the sleeve,has anyone commentted on the leg yet.i would have to let you know it looks great if i saw you on the street. emoticon

I totally understand the not having time to cook thing but there are ways around it where you and your family can all eat the SAME healthy meal together. I work 10 hour days M-Th and my husband doesn't get home till 6:30-7 so it is up to me to get dinner on the table after a long day while taking care of my (needy) 18 mo old. I found the only way I could do this was with a lot of prep!

plan: I create a weekly meal plan every week before I go to the grocery store on Friday to make sure I have all the ingredients I need. Friday & Saturday dinner are easy because my husband is home to help watch my daughter while I cook and I can starte early. Sunday is my "prep" day. I spend my daughter's nap time prepping all the food I will need for dinners during the week. I chop all the vegetables I will need for meals and put them in their own tupperware containers (including grating fresh ginger, mincing garlic, etc.). I then precook anything that I can (sautee onions or other vegetables that are part of the main dish and maybe even cook rice). This way I only have to do the prep dishes once (yay) and then during the week I just pull out all of the ingredients, put them together, and voila I have dinner! I also don't make anything that takes more than 30 minutes to cook and always have at least one but usually two really easy cooking days (15 min or less) in case I just don't feel like doing much one night.

    The member NANCYANNE55 just posted a blog about going off track it is a good blog it sort of relates to what you are writting about. She is very knowledgeable and has been on SP for a few years she really knows her stuff and her blogs are very informative.

    I'm so excited for you to get started - you're gonna love it!! How much more simple can it get and look at all the yummy choices you get to choose from. It will work for you - you'll do great, I'm sure of it!

I especially think it's a good program for you as a busy mom. Now you don't have to figure out how to find time to make breakfast or lunch or snacks for yourself. And the best part (for me anyway) no counting! No tracking! Just eat, drink and enjoy the results :)

    This sounds awesome. I'm doing a plan right now where some food is provided, and I have to make all my proteins and veggies. It's working so well for. I'm definitely one of those people who prefers very structured programs. Sounds like you're setting yourself up for success-- can't wait to hear about your results!

    I should tell my mom about that program...she really needs to lose weight. She is really struggling (over 100 pounds over weight) and is in so much back and knee pain from the extra weight and being older. I will see how you do on it!

I wouldn't worry about wearing shorts or a skirt. Most of my life I hid my hearing aids behind my hair, now I'm just like "hey it helps me hear so either you like it or ya don't", long as I am okay with it, thats all that matters.
