Got up early this morning and set out for PA to get my boat in the water for the first time. We got a little lost looking for the launch site, but we were on the water before 9:30am. Setting out the water was glassy it was so calm. I could see the clouds reflected on the surface. We went about 6 miles south in the Allegheny Reservoir. We turned around when I figured I was half done. When we crossed the Reservoir to come back north the wind started to pick up. We ended up dealing with a fairly strong headwind. I know the trip back took longer. My only complaint about the day were all the motor boats zooming around. The kayak was wonderful. The seat is positioned a little differently than in my niece's kayak, and was significantly more comfortable. My hips didn't tighten up at all. In all we paddled about 12 miles in 3.5 hours. My next long paddle will probably be the end to end on Chautauqua Lake in September. That is about 18 miles.
When I got home I was going to go for a run, but decided to walk instead. I did wear the dog though, so it was with an added 12 pounds. I partially decided to walk because we had a family dinner, and I wouldn't have had time for a shower beforehand. Can you say ewwww?!
Foodwise it wasn't my best day. Tim Horton's for breakfast, Wendy's for lunch and cake and ice cream with dinner. The crazy thing is I was still within my calorie limit for the day. Good thing I weigh myself on Saturday mornings though. I noticed my fruit and veggie servings were much lower than normal today, probably due to all that fast food.
According to my tracker I burned over 15,000 calories this week! That is a LOT of physical activity. Next week will probably be about the same, but the following week should be much less active, as I probably won't be kayaking as much. I think I will take that week and relax a little... maybe.
