I get so frustrated when the scale won't budge! But I will not let it defeat me. This is what I have learned from Sparkpeople. We just keep on going, no matter what! And that is my consolation. Maybe I ate the wrong combination of foods. Or it could be the birthday dinner my co-worker took me to. She knows I am trying to lose weight. But if I had declined, she would have gotten her feelings hurt. I have decided to just say no next time. Or just order something with less calories. So, this is really my fault. I cannot blame her for my shortcomings. However, I am so easily influenced. I hate that I cannot say NO! I will succeed!

Thanks ONCEMOREAGAIN. I will try that next time. I didn't know you could order things without salt. I live in a suburb of New Orleans, and we fry everything. I have discontinued that unhealthy habit. But every now and then I get fried oysters, shrimp and catfish. They also fry soft shelled crabs. YUM! I have these dishes at least once a year. But I don't eat the bread or fries that come with it, only the salad. But the amount of sodium is incredible! I don't have high blood pressure, because I stopped eating that way.
Thanks for the info. Any help is greatly appreciated. emoticon

I also get frustrated when the scale does not I just switch things around. I think that my body gets used to the same things all the time.

You made a definite step forward in realizing that you could have ordered something with fewer calories while out. I am on a heart diet and must restrict salt and fats. I still go out once in awhile, but order things without salt, and ask that they be baked or broiled. I was kind of scared to do that the first time, but it has gotten easier; plus my friends all know that I can't eat like most of the them do.

You will do just fine...keep on keeping on!!

You have already learned one of THE most important lessons....
You did NOT throw in the towel just because of one bad day/meal/moment.
I'd say you are off to a great start!
