It feels like it has been forever since I wrote a blog and a couple of things hindered me from blogging. I have to begin by saying that I am one of those persons that like to deal with the issues in her life before commenting on them or even letting people into what is going on.
Like I said in my last blog, I was training was for my first 5K run which is coming up on August the 27th and very honestly right now, I'm not sure if it's going to be a run only. Let me explain myself. The first 2 weeks of training, went great. I went running at least 4x/week, gradually increasing the speed as well as the time and then, an accident happened which got my car totaled.
I couldn't go to the gym anymore! I was frustrated because I put in so much work to stay on track and then this happens. Work hasn't really helped because I was busy. I'm a beginner when it comes to running so after more than a week of not running I am terrified. To add the that, the shoes I was using didn't have much cushion and they wore out very easily so I had to get a brand new pair of shoes. I know excuses excuses but the gym is far, I have no ride, I even had to walk to work for the days following my car accident.
Fortunately, I was able to get a new car and I also got a new pair of running shoes, the Reebok Realflex Run.The shoes feel comfortable and they had a lot of great reviews. I also got a deal for them (about 60%off brand new). I'm going to try them out tomorrow. My race is in 7 days and I'm going to do my best to be better prepared for the race.
I will be running everyday next week except on Friday because my muscles need to be in top shape for Saturday.
