Disaster Planning

Saturday, August 18, 2012

I am very excited for the next 9 days. It'll be filled with family, friends and fun activities. Add to those fun activities the anxiety of house guests, work, packing for a trip - all at the same time with the never ending availability of binge type food and you get the potential for disaster.

What do I need? A plan! Right about here is where I would type what that plan is . . . but I don't have one yet. Step 1 is knowing you need a plan LOL

Seriously. Gonna take a deep breath and one thing / day at a time. Here's the plan. I will be aware of my anxiety and anticipate when it will hit me. I am going to stop. focus on what really needs to happen and what doesn't. for example at this very moment guest #1 should be arriving and my table is covered in paper. I am not going to stress and I'm not going to shove it all into the closet - which would cause more anxiety since it's stuff I need to do this week! . . lol guest 1 arrived - more later

OMG this is going to be hard. Thankfully hubby took guest to the store. In the 30 minutes he was here my nerves are shot.

Revised plan - water....just gonna keep drinking water...

Everything is fine the way it is. Pray for the release from other people's approval and try to give them yours. Everything else is just window dressing.

You can do this...remember your goals. Have fun and focus on those guests. Hope all goes well! emoticon
