Epic Quest of Awesome!!!!

I've been reading a lot on nerdfitness.com lately and he has wonderful, inspirational blogs. I decided to put together, what he calls, My Epic Quest of Awesome! Basically a bucket list. I'm going to work on one physical and one personal item at a time (I really want to do parkour-ing but need to get in shape for it first). My physical one this week will be wakeboarding as we're taking the boat to eastern WA. Can't wait! I really want to do the birthday project/random acts of kindness that a fellow sparker blogged about too. I'm going to read about it and prepare over the next week.

Anyway, Just thought it would be fun, and create a bit of accountability to post this. Do you have a bucket list or something epic you're working on? I'd love to hear what it is!

My Epic Quest of Awesome!

Places to go:
• Caribbean with my mom (booked Isla Marisol in Belize March 2013)
• France, Spain, Italy
• Thunder eggs on pacific coast
• Thunder eggs at red Mtn (name?) Place where scouts went
• Eqypt

• Grand Canyon
o Glass outlook
o Mules to the bottom of the canyon
o Camp
o Climb on rocks

• Whistler
• Kayak somewhere cool (place TBD)
• Camp at Yosemite
• Hawaii with my mom and son
• San Juan Islands (booked Orcas Island – Rosario Resort- October 2012)
• See the northern lights in Canada (maybe from Whistler)

• Hike
o Bandera
o Mt. Rainier
o Mt. Rainier loop trail
o Big Si
o Find 4 new hikes in 4 months and hike them

Personal Level Up Goals-education:
• Learn a new language (French and/or Spanish)
• Work on small talk, communication
• See family more
• Get my son engaged in more activities and interests
• Get my son to be serious about school work
• Be an extra in a movie
• Think of a new art/hobby
• Rockhounding in the area – learn more and find an adventure to go on (darnit garnet, gold panning, etc.)
• Wine tasting
o Find ultimate pepper wine (American oak)
o Take a wine tasting class
• Sew at least 5 outfits like newdressaday.com person
• Photography
o Mountaineers hike & photography outings
o Nancy
o Class
o Think of unique way of taking photographs
o Take picture of my biggest agate for dad at the beach and have it turned into a puzzle for Christmas
• Cook new things
o Cooking club
o Try something new once a month
o Change towards paleo diet
• Take a salsa or other, similar dance class
• Give to others
o Thebdayproject.com – give of yourself with random acts of kindness
 Animals
 Give out dum dums
 Pay for the next person in line at store/restaurant

Personal Level Up Goals-physical:

• Become proficient at wakeboarding (going Aug 19-24)
o Cross the wake and come back again
o Jump the wake
o Get comfortable going both ways
o Catch air
o Try other tricks

• Hang glide
• Bungee jump
• Sky dive
• Trapeze
• Zorbing
• Hot air balloon

Personal Level Up Goals-personal:
• Go to makeup counter and get “done up” for new ideas
• Wash face and moisturize every night
• Try new hair style or make up once a week for 2 months
• Thank about Accessorizing for 2 weeks straight
• Reach goal size (0-3 pants), 25” waist
• Carefully pick out wardrobe from existing clothes and new clothes after reaching goal size

Weight training goals:
• Bench press 100 lbs
• Dead lift 200 lbs
• Squat 150 lbs
• Bicept curl 30 lbs

Body weight training goals:
• Do a pull up (and then get up to doing 10 at least)
o Start by doing db rows and bb rows, bar at park hanging underneath and pulling self up, assisted machine at gym
• Do at least 20 push ups
• Plank for 5 minutes
• Do 10 one-arm push ups
• Do 5 handstand push ups against the wall
• Try Yoga and/or pilates to see if I like them and if they are helpful with body weight training

• Parkour
o Attend class (Call gymnastics place Sept 1 to sign up for class)
o Research on-line
o Look for people at freeway park and talk with them
o Work on pull ups, bench presses, planks
o Work on jumping stairs and long jumping
o Hand stand

Aerobic goals:
• Run 6.2 miles
o Get back into shape to run 3 mile loops without stopping
o Add ½ mile to the last run every third run until I’m at 6.2
o Run a 10 k race
• Run fast sprints (to prepare for parkour)
• Bike the STP
• Zhumba
• Do a mud race

Master quests:
• Go into outer space

    That's an amazing list!!! I don't know if I could do some of what you are wanting (go into outerspace) - I have an amazing fear of leaving the ground. :)

I know you can do it though, if you set your mind to something, you can do anything!!!
