August Check-In

Friday, August 17, 2012

I have started a challenge group (for people with Fibromyalgia) on Facebook to help me get back into exercising...and I am using measurements to track my progress instead of weighing in. I must say, I like this approach MUCH better... In the last month, I have lost a inch off my thighs, arms, and waist. Great to see progress--even if it is small. I will measure again in a month. For now, I need to focus on doing what I can fitness wise and staying on my eating program.

The core of my eating program is having Muscle Milk Chocolate Protein shakes twice a day. I will just be eating dinner with some snacking going on. There are multiple reasons for avoiding *eating* and using protein shakes, but I think it will help me focus on making sure I am getting the protein my body needs. Normally, I never get the protein I should be consuming.

As far as exercising goes, I am hoping to do some workouts at night. That way, I have enough energy to get me through each day before I do my small workouts that completely exhaust me.

That is the plan. Simple, but doable plans. Workout when I can. Eat right when I can. Limit how much snacking I do, and the kind of snacks I choose.

Good job on the inches lost, my dear! So glad to hear you have a good support system in place on FB that's helping. :) I like your plan, for the record. Simple is good!

I buy "Cytosport Muscle Milk" from Vitacost.com. Majority of their flavors are gluten free. Only like 2 aren't gluten free. I get the Chocolate kind, because it is really good and I can put some baking soda in there without noticing it too much. Thanks, Linda! =) I am trying, but the Lord is the One who leads the way and KEEPS me going!

My daughter who is very strict gluten free has been enjoying herbalife milkshakes two meals per day [only a couple of their flavors are gluten free] and then one regular food meal with lots of fresh veggies and fruit - has lost 30 pounds since May and is feeling so good - Are your protein shakes gluten free? where did you find them? So proud of your progress in choosing healthy path to follow - keep up the good blogging and getting in exercise with your fibro.

I normally do wii bowling w/ side steps...since it's nice and cool in my apartment. I am hoping to start walking outside once it cools down.. thanks for the tip! =) I need to be more willing to find ways to get some walking in... Or, maybe even do a dvd if I can't make it outside.
