FINALLY...answers for my pain

Friday, August 17, 2012

I have been suffering from severe pain from my hips & lower back for some time now. Because of this, I have not been exercising & have gained quite a bit of weight.

After several x-rays my doctor says I have "facet arthritis" in both hips and lower back. She wants me to go to physical therapy & see if this will help. I am ready for anything that will help at this point. Currently, I am working with my insurance company to try & get this started.

Hopefully, if I can get the pain down to "bearable" status I can get back to walking & start to lose some of this weight. Hold good thoughts for me SP.

OH girl I so relate!!!! i have severe sciatica which has been flared up since May but super bad since Aug. just now getting relief. and it has been a stretching machine at chiro that helped. Drugs stopped some pain but the nerve was still pinched. This machine helps to slooooowly pull the vertebrae apart and helps them stay that way which will releive the pressue on my S1 nerve causing such bad sciatica and pins and needles, numbness etc.
HUGS and hope you get some relief.

sorry to read about your pain. Try exercising in water as it supports a lot of weight. Make sure you take the analgesics 30-40 minutes before you do any exercise too.

Yeah, it's like a vicious circle isn't it. Weight isn't good for our bones, and our bones keep us from exercising to lose it. Ahhhh. Well, at least we are alive to get old uh?
Good luck, I know the physical therapy will help.
