I'm doing better on getting up in the morning, but I can tell I'm still in the early stages of this journey. Which is fine. I see progress and that's always good.
In other news, I finished my novel. (Seems weird to call it a novel, I've always only called it my story.) Sent out queries this afternoon. *takes a quick moment to freak out* To prepare, I cleaned my kitchen, swept all the tiled floors in my house, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and hand-washed everything else, cleaned the litter box, exercised, and played games on my phone.
When I finally sat down, I spent 15 minutes painstakingly formatting my query (which was unnecessary as it was already formatted correctly). Then spent the next 1 hour and 45 minutes personalizing each letter, making sure I had the right writing samples attached, and keying in names and cut & pasting emails. Then my brother sends a text message asking me if I sent anything yet while I was sitting there staring at the computer. So I hit the send button. 15 emails and 1 online form query. No out of office responses, nothing's bounced back. *deep breath* Now I wait.
I'm so nervous, but maybe I'll be able to sleep now. I certainly feel a lot calmer. And now I can tell how exhausted I am. I'm surprised I'm not sick with something. I'm doing nothing writing related until at least Monday, hopefully later (Sunday at the earliest if I can't stand it anymore.) I'm going to catch up on some reading.
And I forgot to eat lunch today. I didn't realize it until 6:00 when I was starving and still needed to shower and go to the grocery store.
Good new is, I haven't been overeating as much the last couple of weeks because my stomach has been twisted in knots. Which I why I sent queries out today instead of next month like I originally planned. I also finished editing ahead of schedule...well, I met the deadline I knew I could make, but I gave myself until the 25th anyway in case I had unproductive days and also to give my writing buddy more time to read through my story. I didn't want to rush her.
And more good news, I finally used the blood glucose monitor I bought 2 months ago. Blood sugar has been in the normal range so far!!! I'm going to test it twice a week for a while to make sure it stays that way. I'm so relieved. I can't say I like poking my finger, but it's worth it. ^_^
