Should I or shouldn't I?

So I have to go to a birthday party this Saturday for my husband's niece and nephew. My MIL asked me to bring brownies. Now, do I make brownies from scratch (all I would need to buy is flour, but what would I do with the rest of it?), make brownies from a mix, or try a GF brownie mix? I read some reviews for Betty Crocker GF brownies and most say they can't tell the difference. I was going to do the brownies from scratch, but then realized my flour was bad so I need to go shopping either way. I'm really leaning toward the GF ones so I can eat something, but I'm normally not a fan of brownies in the first place. However, they sound good right now. Nobody needs to know, but I want to make sure the brownies are really good because these people are hard to please.
I did find a good GF pizza, which really surprised me. I've had buns by the same company and couldn't eat them because they tasted so bad. I've also had GF pizza at a pizza restaurant that was ok, but not great. The pizza I tried tonight was a keeper. Too bad they cost so much, but I don't eat that stuff a lot so it's ok.
There is no doubt in my mind that I have a gluten issue. I thought I was completely GF but started having stomach issues again. Of course my first thought was that I was pregnant. Then I noticed that the enzyme pills I have been taking to help digestion have wheat in them. Never checked the label. Boy did I learn my lesson. I thought I was going to have to go home sick from work today, and then I realized it was from the gluten I accidentally consumed.
I really hope I can make it to the GF food fair this weekend. That's more important to me than the birthday party. One of my coworkers helped me sign up on a celiac website that is supposed to send you a box of GF foods. She signed up as well for her dad so now we are just waiting to see what happens.
