Well here I am, a month and half into my weight loss journey. I am down 12 lbs and am so happy! This time it just feels different. This time I am doing it nice and slow and I am doing things the right way. Counting calories and adding exercise and not doing anything I am not willing to keep up for the rest of my life.
A lot of my friends are doing the HCG diet and I have to admit I am jealous of their rapid weight loss. What I am not jealous of, is their mood swings, inability to participate in social events, not being able to exercise at all, and that this is a diet and not changing normal daily behaviors. Even so, I was tempted to give it a try myself but have chosen this path instead.
I am living on a beautiful tropical island in the Pacific and daily activity is mandatory. We all ride our bikes wherever we go! Although running in this hot humid climate has proved challenging, I am going to push through it and do it anyway.
So my plan is basic, stay within my daily 1200-1500 calorie range and work on the Couch to 5k program. I will be running 3 days a week at 5:30am and then we go scuba diving on Mondays. I will continue on this path as long as I am seeing progress and will adjust things as needed.
I am excited to do this and feel truly motivated for the first time in a long time. I want to be healthier and more comfortable in my skin (and airplane seats).
