the law does not protect woman from their abusers!!

Thursday, August 16, 2012

in fact, in my case it thrust me into such a terrible position - my very life was in danger. it had to do with a form for a hunting permit (guns) and on the form it asked if the spouse had any comments - 'misgivings' - i wrote down what was the truth.
when my abuser called to ask where his licence was - they said quite plainly 'WELL THERE IS A HOLD UP AS YOUR WIFE PUT IN A COMMENT!"
why would that 'officer of the court' be so stupid.
this happens all the time, all over ladies. that officer put me into such a hell for months.
a close friend of mine has tried to get out, she fears for her kids and will not leave without them. all she gets is the run around about everything when it is sooo very clear her abuser should be restrained, and even locked up as he has raised his hands to her and the children.
it is always ' he said / she said' but the law is just plain broken. in fact, there really is no 'law' for us.
or there is a tag - he is 'bipolar - depressed- anxiety ridden - blah blah' and in the meantime we are suffering, indeed dying at the hands of these monsters.
they are sadists, they are evil - don't label them sick - they know exactly what they are doing.
anyway - i and the sisterhood are still subjected to a lot of these dangers, - we are trapped in a tangled web - whether it be our names being tied to these losers, or finances - please ladies - be careful. lend no support to these people - you could be digging your own grave.

I feel for you in the situation you're in. I agree with the others. Get to a safe house somewhere. RO's are little pieces of nothing really. There need to be stronger laws protecting women and children from abusive husbands/fathers. Thank God I haven't been in your situation, but I have had family members who have been. I hope you get out safely.

    I agree, a good woman's shelter or women's counseling. . .

I had to get a restraining order against a former boyfriend about 10 years ago. It's frightening how little a RO really does for the situation and can actually make it worse. Sending up prayers for you and your friends. I've been through that hell and would never want to go back. emoticon

Go immediately, to a woman's shelter... they'll know how to handle this, and you'll be safe. emoticon

You are so right. And then on top of everything, emotional abuse is totally ignored by the law.
