I had a lovely day today. Thursday is my WI day with WW and I go with my friend. Today I lost .7 kg. Happy with that.
My friend and I then met another friend and we had lunch, did some shopping and then had afternoon tea. Then it was off to look at a nursery and I managed to purchase some little plants called Cuphea - 3 different colours. I think they are old fashioned and I have some, but have a gap where a couple died - so I have some to replace now.
I arrived home after 4.30 pm to a message on my answering machine to say one of my cousins wasn't expected to live. I phoned my uncle back and spoke to him for a bit. Then a little while later the phone call came that he had passed away. My uncle (not his dad) asked me to call one of my other cousin's to let her know. We spoke for a long time which was lovely. We have decided to make sure we get together with 2 of our other cousins and their wives/husbands and our husbands as soon as we get back from Thailand. An unexpected death like this makes you realise that life is not forever! I then phoned my cousin (the brother of the one who died) and had a talk to him as there is no way we will get to the funeral as we leave the country on Wednesday morning - fly to Sydney Tuesday, and the funeral will probably be Wednesday anyway - and will be held about an hour and a half north of Sydney. Sad news. He was very good to my dad and looked up to my dad.
Then I had a phone call from my eldest daughter to say that her friend was engaged - which was awesome news, as she lost her first fiance some years ago in a tragic accident. It was so lovely to hear she has found happiness again - I have met the young man - and they are a lovely couple. So congratulations to them!
I sat back in the recliner with Max on my lap .... ahhh.
DH was trying to get Max to come to him, but the only way he can get him is to say 'do you want some cheese' and Max is off like a flash - DH has started giving him some cheese at night and Max loves it! Of course, once the cheese is gone, Max is back up on my lap!
And so I sit here - Max has decided to go outside! - and finish off 'sparking', going to retire to bed soon. I have come a long way in the last few days from being is a lot of pain earlier in the week, to feeling ok. Yesterday I moved another 2 bales of sugar cane mulch. I won't get all the garden mulched before I go, but I will get some more done tomorrow I hope.
The count down is on - I still haven't packed - but I need to over the weekend! I have the camera batteries charged, a list (not sure where it is at the moment) of things to do, have printed out all the accounts that need to be paid for church and have our accounts (just a few) in a pile to pay over the internet.... then pack.... go out for dinner tomorrow night for our eldest son's 41st birthday, watch his son play soccer on Saturday morning, maybe go to watch another grandson play Rugby League on Saturday afternoon, church Sunday morning, soccer Sunday afternoon ....have my eyelashes tinted tomorrow and eyebrows waxed (can't see without my glasses to pluck them) and those pesky hairs that grown on the chin .... Monday hairdresser for cut and colour and then bone density scan at midday Monday ... Phew .... I had better get cracking!
No call from the doc re the mammogram or blood test - so I take that as a positive - no news is good news - the surgery I go to are very quick in phoning you when the doc wants to see you re the results of tests!
So off to bed .... good night all
