Well, I have yet to make the ortho appointment because I was trying to figure out what is covered by my insurance. I've been helping my sister who dislocated her shoulder and I'm totally out of my routine since I'm not at home. On top of that I had a root canal (surprise!) and I let that get the best of me.
However, I did get the bloodwork back and apparently everything is normal except my cholesterol, which is a little high. Now, that is something that runs in my family, so it sucks but I don't feel like its a huge surprise. Since I was vegetarian for a decade and I'm now eating meat, it sounds convenient to blame it on adding beef and more animal fats into my diet, but I'm not really sure. I know that all the foods I tend to eat when I'm stressed out are high fat.
I have to go back in 6 months and get retested. Meanwhile I've started reading labels for cholesterol and I feel like I'm learning a lot about food I didn't know before. Its like a whole new lens over the whole food pyramid. I have to admit its a little frustrating... but the frustration just comes from realizing I really do need to track my food intake closely. There is no avoiding it!!
I've started training with my husband who is doing a Tough Mudder race in October. I'm just doing warmup jogging with him on nights he's doing a longer workout. I aim to make the ortho appointment next week.
