Something i just learned..

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

So, i have been a yoyo for the past 3 months.. my weight has fluctuated between 221-228... Its getting VERY frustrating!! BUT at the same time.. im realizing why this is happening.. ITS NOT from platuing.. Why?? because i know what im doing WRONG.. Usually when you platu you gotta switch something up. The reason why im yoyoing is because im not really caring about the way i eat sometimes. Ill do good all week then the weekend hits.. or ill do good for 3 days then a bomb hit.. then im ok for another few days then back at it again.. One thing my co worker told me is.. If you have an issue with food, you gotta start saying no. If you say yes to 1 thing.. you will say yes to the next..So i gotta start saying NO!!! I cant eat just 1 bad thing.. when i eat that BAD thing.. i crave for something else.. and eat it anyways because i already messed my day up. Here is an example...

i did GREAT all weekend for once and i was good monday.. i was expecting to do awesome today too.. but when i got home from work today my mom ordered chinese food!!! MY BIGGEST TEMPTATION EVERY! I LOVE CHINESE FOOOOOOOD!!! So i deff. couldnt say NO! I told myself just 1 little plate.. BUT that turned into 2.. then i said OKK IM DONE.. 5 mins later i craved a cinnamon brown sugar poptart!! I gave in2 that.. THEN i said i was done.. but at that point i already lost it.. i was depressed and gave in to that last bowl of special k chocolate ceral! UGGH i hate bad food!!!

Been there done that, okay still do from time to time. Gotta learn to stop, drink some water, do something that involves your handes so you can't eat or get out of the house away from the food. It takes small steps to makethe change, you can do it!

Are we the same person, ha. Reading this is EXACTLY what I struggle with!! I yo-yo from 244-247 for the past couple of months now, I try SO hard during the week and then the weekend comes and I crash. Every day I think the next day is going to be better, every Monday is the perfect Monday where I eat just the right foods and exercise just enough.

Good luck and hang in there, I Know this journey is not easy...I am just getting back into this website and trying again. We can do it

Consistancy is key. Small steps everyday.

We all have these moments. Have you asked your mom to join you on this journey? Tell her you how proud you are of yourself for already getting half-way to your goal and that this is when you need to keep pushing through.

By the way - your pictures are amazing. I use that visualization thing. Every time I want to binge eat - I get that picture in my head (and sometimes I actually hold it in my hand) of myself when I was at my goal weight. Print out that picture of yourself that you have where you are 65 pounds down and look so happy. And then say - I like myself self like THIS. The food is a temporary happy. That picture is forever.

I always think I'm ready to 'just have a little' and then put it down. But whenever I do, I always end up snowballing out of control. I've just decided I'm not strong enough yet to have a taste and put the rest down, so I just don't have it at all. I'm with your colleague on this one. It's so tough though. I guess we just have to take it one meal at a time. emoticon

i also have overeatig issues. i don't say "NO" to myself enough. i do ok at some points and then mindlessly eat 1 thing abd then i have a craving for more. i do bad when i get home. i always want a quick snack. i am not actually hungry, but think i am.

Start trying to think of it as being kind to yourself. No one is perfect so there's no way your weight loss/health journey will be perfect. When you do have a slip up don't say I ruined it already I might as well keep going, say okay I slipped up on this meal or snack but I can make sure my next meal or snack is actually good for me. By giving yourself permission to forgive yourself for messing up you might find it easier to get back on track. This type of thinking has helped me to stay mostly on track even with slip ups.

Good luck and don't forget you're worth all the effort you're going through emoticon

Or, say YES to one thing that is RIGHT.

"Yes" to the salad instead of the fries. "YES" to the water instead of the soda. Build the momentum in the right direction and you won't be able to say "YES" to things that aren't good for your body or soul.

KNOWING what you are doing wrong means you're moving in the right direction. Say YES to your health and treating yourself with respect. You can do it! :-)

We all go through these yoyo's and know what it is we need to do to get to where we want to be. Once you realize and accept what it is you're going to do, just do it! It's for you and no one else as you have nothing to prove. You're entitled but don't erase the good you've done. To thine own self be true. emoticon emoticon emoticon
