One summer, 4 trips, only 3 pounds!

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

This has been a rough summer. We had 4 different vacations scheduled. I was worried about how I was going to do. In the past, my mind set was, "Hey, I'm on vacation. I'm not dieting." Then, my favorite gym closed. How was I going to get my strength training in!

We just got home from our last scheduled trip this summer, and I only gained 3 pounds! Usually I can easily plan on gaining 5 pounds per trip. The difference this time: I wasn't dieting! I was eating healthy. Plus, we scheduled active vacations walking, swimming, golfing; not sitting on a bus or in a car sightseeing.

I've been trying to stay active this summer. Unfortunately, I'm having back issues, so my strength training has to be put on hold for a bit longer, but I will get back into it. I plan on getting together with my sister-in-law, who has a home gym in her basement.

All in all, I'd say this was the most successful summer I've had in a long time.

Woohoo for you!!! I'd say you did pretty darn good this summer! I had the most active summer in a long time too! It felt good to be out doing things again & I don't want winter to come and put an end to it all! Unfortunatly I did lose track of my food tracking & regular exercise so I plan to get back on board with that 100% tomorrow. Tomorrow will make exactly one month till my 5K & I got a lot of work ahead of me to get ready for it!!!!! Luckily I pretty much maintained this summer too, instead of gaining.

So...I'm right here with you girl!!! We can do it together! And I'm glad to hear you have a place where you can still do your strength training once your back is better even though your gym closed! emoticon emoticon

Way to stick with SP. By eating healthy on vacation, you proved that you are committed. Keep it up.
