So why do advertisers make claims of a secret that only the manufacturer has figured out? Why do writers of articles say there are secrets? They do that to get our attention. If they are selling something they hope that we will believe that there really is a secret and buy their magic potion.
The other day I read a Sparkpeople article that was a re-release of a 2007 article “5 Secrets of the 5%”.

?id=423 Some commenters thought the article should have been updated or should provide more scientific data to support the points made. I read the same article and it seems that the points made are timeless and all of the studies imaginable will not change the facts. My one objection to the article is that I don’t agree that the secrets really are a secret. The article was, however, correct on the five techniques covered in the article. They are: Make it Public, Pay Attention, Enjoy Themselves, Make Gradual Changes, and Allow Themselves To Fail. After you read the article the points will make more sense.
I have thought about this and everything I come up with can be put into one of the points. The approach, as written will work. We can all come up with obstacles to success but by using the five points we will overcome every one of those obstacles. I’m not saying this will be easy but with consistent application of the 5 points we can join that 5%.
Enjoy the ride,
Lew
