Here we go.

Hey guys My holiday was great. I went for a lot of walks and hikes while I was gone. I had a very relaxing and fun time but on to more serious matters.
On Saturday I got a text from my Dad telling me it’s time. He put in an application for mom to move into an assisted living facility this morning. By 3:30pm today it was approved. Mom will be moving into the home on Wednesday. Back Story my Mother has Early On Set Alzheimer's. She was diagnosed 6 years ago at the age of 54. She been on a very quick decline over the last 2 months. She can no longer feed, dress, bathe or go to the washroom alone. She has a hard time speaking and making out words. My dad will also be admitted into the hospital in Saskatoon Wednesday afternoon. His Kidneys are failing, his cholesterol is high and his mental health is balancing on edge. His doctor and psych told him that if he didn’t go willingly they would have him committed. I knew this was coming and I helped make sure it happened but that doesn’t make it any less traumatic. Having both your parents institutionalized on the same day is not the easiest. I know she will be getting awesome care. She will be living in the care home she use to work at as a nurse and in the town she grew up in. My aunt, uncles and cousin still live in the town and it’s on 40 mins away from my dad’s house. She worked with many other the ladies that will be looking after her. They’ve all reassured me she will get lots of love and respect. My dad needs help. His is a risk to himself and he needs to get healthy before he can return home alone.

This is all for the best. She will be getting the care she needs. She will get more stimulus being around professionals. This is for the best.
