3x week run? 2
1x week ST? 0
(bonus walking: 0)
F/V: 46
In ranges for 5 days/week? No
Running notes:
21 straight minutes running (out of a 45 minute total session).
Notes:
I went from 13 straight minutes to 21 in one big jump. And I have the weather to thank for it. (ok, not all of it, but a huge bit). Friday the weather was PERFECT for running and that's just what I did. I could have even gone longer but I didn't want to press my luck and overdo it in one go and ruin my good mojo.
It felt good to really feel like I was kicking butt at my goal and it definitely improved my pretty crap-tacular feelings toward this 10K. Do I still have my doubts and worries? Of course I do (hell, I'm still breathing so I'm still worrying--I'm a worrier by nature).
But 21 minutes straight running was HUGE for me. That's only 9 minutes shy of a 30 minutes, which is what I ran a 5k in last time. I feel confident I can get back to a 30 minute 5K in the next few days and THEN begin focusing on working the longer distance (I have a new route that's 6 miles, so I don't have to do two loops at the 3 mile distance--that would be too montonous).
I know I can finish a 10K doing it walk/run. But I also know I can do BETTER than that.
And I'm done underestimating myself. It's time to really grab this challenge by the balls and make it yell UNCLE!
I will not walk even one step of this 10K. Do you hear me!? DO YOU!?
