Oh man this weekend was full--full of fun, water, SUN. It's been crazy sunny and hot here in Seattle. I spend much of my time at my friend's house on Lake Sammamish in the sun. I had a blast, BUT, I did not take care of myself--basically I didn't drink any water. I had my yummy hard cider, I had wine, and every once in awhile I had a sip of water but definitely didn't stay hydrated. Monday I had the day off, tried to drink water but didn't get anywhere close to the 100 oz I drink on a day where I'm not in the scorching heat. I didn't really eat well this weekend--not a lot of fruits/veggies/whole meals--a lot of snacking.
So, today. Today was a run day for me. I woke up and was feeling idgy, but I went out anyway. I started to run, and while I pushed myself and felt like it was a pretty great run, when I got home, I was light headed, my body felt extremely heavy and lethargic, and I couldn't stand up without feeling dizzy. No bueno. I sipped some water and passed out, but I'm realizing how dehydration and bad nutrients made me feel terrible--and definitely did not fuel me for my exercise. So, lesson learned. Drinking my water, eating balanced foods, and getting my rest today.
