back to reality

Monday, August 13, 2012

My scale says i gained 2 lbs on my mini-trip. i did eat lots of good-for-me food, but also ate out. At the places we went healthy choices were non-existent.

So today it's back on track for me. 85 days left in the hundred day challenge, 24 more in the August challenge, and only 4 left in the summer 5% challenge.

Exercise for today; 60 minutes plus 5 minutes of cool down
Calories and other nutrients; most in range (i track alot of things so it's rare to have a perfect day with everything. )
Energy; only a 3 of 5.
Pain level; 3 of 10

Boy, I understand what you mean. Even though you try to eat healthy on vacation you still can end up gaining some weight. It's very possible though that it's from sodium. I'm sure those 2 pounds will be gone in no time.

Dusty, Your weight gain may be from sodium. I love the plan that you have mapped out for yourself. emoticon

I am right there with ya

We just got back from vacation. I wasnt at the weight I wanted to be before we left, but I kept reminding myself of how far I have come from a year ago.

I decided not to stress over the food, or the exercise. Food being 80% of the game, I just tried to make healthy choices when I could. I also took food for breakfast (I intermittent fasted still a couple of mornings) We usually ate out lunch, I just tried to order as best as I could & avoided desserts, excess breads. Not many drinks but I had two. Supper I mostly cooked. Exercise, we did lots of walking and activities. So I was bummed that I wasnt where I wanted to be, but I still tried to just have a good time. And I did :)

End result? I gained 2.2 pounds but I didnt stress it. I didnt sleep well, and sleep is so important so I know that was part of it. I also had steak on Friday and Sunday, and while that is healthy enough, it stays in my system a bit longer.... This morning, 1.5 of it was already gone :)

Sometimes. the vacation food is much higher in sodium than what you would ordinarily eat. Those two pounds will probably melt away quickly!
