Sad news.

Monday, August 13, 2012

On Tuesday, July 31 I did my last blog entry, with pictures of the animals. On Friday, August 3rd, Eddie ran out in the street and was hit by a car and killed. So it's been a very sad week. It's interesting, too, how Chica and Wasabi have responded to Eddie not being around. Chica has been piling all her attention on Wasabi, though I'm sure he would call it abuse. Wasabi, on the other hand, has been a bit depressed. For example, first thing every morning I go into the bathroom and Sabi comes in to greet me. Then we always would both turn to see Eddie come flying down the stairs to get his share of lovin'. All last week, we continued to do that, even though Eddie did NOT come flying down the stairs. Sabi has also been sleeping...a lot...and not eating much. So if anyone says that animals don't grieve, I know they are wrong.
Me, I just eat.

So sorry for your loss. We had to put our dog to sleep 3 years ago and I still miss him. My husband got a new dog but it just isn't the same for me. I don't love him nearly as much as I did our other dog. Take care of yourself. emoticon

Animals grieve and can get hurt feelings too. I once scolded rather harshly with words my little Chihuahua for destroying something of mine, and then when I went to pick her up later, her face was wet with tears. When our Chi passed away, our border collie was the one to greive for weeks no matter how we tried to cheer her up. Take care. You and your little ones are in this together and will find comfort in each other.

I know they do - I am so sorry. I lost one of my dogs last June. It still feels empty around here.

Animals surely grieve. Anyone who says they don't has never had a pet that has lost one of their friends. They grieve as we do but in their own way.
Take care of yourself, as well as your furry friends. Eating won't help you in the long run. It will only add to your grief.

So sorry for your loss. emoticon emoticon

Oh, I'm so sorry! You are right about animals grieving. Anyone who says otherwise knows nothing about animals. I hope you and the other furbabies can take comfort in each other in your healing process.
