For anyone with Type II Diabetes, there's really good news. You can beat it. Let me share my story:
About five years ago, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. The doctor prescribed Metformin and I began taking daily glucose readings. But Diabetes wasn't the only threat to my health. High cholesterol runs in my family. So, Type II Diabetes combined with heart-attack risk and a very stressful job was a strong wake-up call . After all, I was up to 245 pounds on a 5'6" frame. For my height and frame, I should weigh 160. So I got to work.
I began a nutrition and exercise program and, within two years, took myself out of both health risks. The doctor was so impressed with my glucose levels, he pulled me off Metformin. Moreover, my heart rate was low and my cholesterol levels had improved dramatically, so I was no longer a heart-attack risk.
My experience shows that nutrition and hard exercise can put Type II Diabetes and high cholesterol on the run! Even though I gained some weight back, I'm once again taking control of my diet and exercise programs to ensure that these risks don't return.
Everyone can do this! It takes time, effort and, most of all, a commitment to yourself. So commit -- put diabetes and heart trouble on the run! But fair warning: this won't be easy -- it never is -- but it's well worth the time and effort!
