“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”-anonymous
Wow, how ture that statement is. The thing is that ti doesn't seem like it should be so hard to do. How different would the world be if we did accept ourself the whole way we are? I'm not saying that I wouldn't work to improve myself, I think the desire to be better and learn is part of my wholeness, but just that I wouldn't hang onto guilt, lies, and negative backstories.
If everyone accepted themselves, I think we would all accept those around us without trying to project ourselves onto them. Just a thought.
Today's challenge was AWESOME! The challenge was to be pamper myself. Thankfully this fell on a Sunday when it's already supposed to be a day of rest.
I decided to relax and read a biography about Jim Henson. I adore the muppets. I mean crazy adore. As a kid one of my dreams was to intern as a muppeteer, it's stilla dream, but frankly it would be incredibly selfish to pack the families bags and move to LA or NYC to work for free with muppets. Oh course in my dream my kids would somehow be able to run free throughout the studio rather than get a babysitter.
It's like my dreams of movign to exotic places, which also involve everyone I know and love being able to reloacte as well.
After reading about Jim Henson I felt relaxed and inspired to create. Not to mention to stop taking myself and my life so darn seriously.
The reason for the pampering? I mean aside from the fact that it was nice?
According to the 10 day Beauty Challenge:
"We have been trained to hate our bodies. We pluck, tweeze, shape, mold, sculpt, and otherwise try to change our appearances. Your body is the vehicle that will carry you to your dreams--treat it with kindness and love. We must cherish our bodies it as God-given gifts."
What would you do for pampering? Take a walk, read a book, have a bubble bath, pedicure, massage, nap, or something else?
