They're called Rheumatoid Nodules ... that sounds sexy doesn't it?

Monday, August 13, 2012

They're called rheumatoid nodules - little pockets of fluid and schmutz about the size of a quarter - that form around the joints. They feel like trying to walk on tennis balls.

This is the best way I can describe the physical challenges I have to face on a daily basis. I don't mean this in a 'poor me' kind of way. I mean it more in a 'crap - they're back - how do I work out?' kind of way. When it is unbelievably painful to walk - how do you jump and kick and twist in taebo or PX90? I did the chest and back last time, but I need to do something different.

That's my challenge for the day. To find a way to get in a good workout without causing pain. And I don't mean the usual stiffness associated with a fat girl exercising. I mean the kind that sets you back in bed for several days.

Motivation? I think I have a lot. I've lost 3 pounds last week and stuck with my meal plans. I can do this. I can. I just have to figure out how....

Wow it is such a challenge. I admire GREATLY the people who figure out how to work out despite physical challenges. SP has a video for chair exercises; you might try that. IndyGirl started working out from a wheelchair. When I couldn't do my regular weight bearing exercises (walking & Zumba), I did seated exercises on the weight machines at the gym (I go to our community gym, not a private gym); and I did deep water fitness and aqua zumba in the pool. These are just possible suggestions! I LOVE your attitude! emoticon

You can do it. It's great that you have lost weight and stuck with your meal plans while trying to deal with the pain and I'm sure lots of frustration. Just try to take it one day at a time. emoticon
