Here is a bit more advice for new SparkPeople members.. and anyone really..
The first minute is personal stuff - about my Dad, whose birthday was today 8-12, and about being pregnant and how much harder it is to exercise and esp. to walk and vlog at the same time now. Alas.
Advice is about Good Nutrition - and using the nutrition tracker.. and your calorie range.
If your calorie range is too low, you are likely to feel deprived and you may not be able to keep this up for a lifetime. Eating whole foods - real fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean protein, will help.. But if you exercise a bit more each day, you can eat on the higher end of your range and still lose weight feeling good. Worried about so many of you new people eating in the 1200-1500 range and upset with yourselves when you can't stick to 1200.. Really? That's too low and likely to put your body into starvation mode where you won't lose anything. The best advice I've seen about this is to eat no less than 200 below your BMR per day and to lose more weight, increase your calorie burn. (If you burn too much, you have to eat a bit more, though. I was burning 5000 calories a week for awhile and hit a plateau when I wasn't eating enough.)
My video stopped recording before I was done (SD card full). I was trying to explain the diff. between your diet - meaning "the food you eat" versus "A diet" - eating certain foods to lose weight for a short period of time til you lose weight. This isn't a DIET, this is a lifestyle.. And I would have edited it, but my SD card was full and it would not save the edit that clipped the end better.
